Job Description:
- Cloudeium is seeking a seasoned and passionate Data Architect to join our dynamic data team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Our team supports a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform that is focused on providing solutions that empower our Federal customers with the tools and capabilities needed to turn data into actionable insights.
- In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting our federal customer build an exciting, innovative, and consolidated BI solution. The tool you will be supporting helps to consolidate and simplify complex data streams across the organization and your work will directly empower senior leadership with a comprehensive, real-time understanding of the organization, arming them with the information needed to make strategic decisions. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and constructing a robust, efficient, and scalable data architecture that will form the backbone of the tool. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data architectures that seamlessly integrate various data sources and support the needs of our BI tool
- Ensure data architectures are optimized for high performance and scalability
- Establish and maintain data governance and security standards to ensure the integrity/security of data
- Identify data management improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand customer challenges and translate business requirements into quality technical solutions (conceptual/logical data models, dashboards, reports, etc.)
- Be an active and collaborative member of an Agile/Scrum team and follow all Agile/Scrum best practices
- Help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork
- Collaborate with others as part of a cross-functional team that includes user experience researchers and designers, product managers, engineers, and other functional specialists
Required Skills:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, particularly in designing and delivering data architecture solutions and strategies.
- Experience working with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL, and experience with statistical analysis.
- Understanding of DevOps, data architecture concepts, data modeling, ETL, data engineering, data governance, data privacy, and security.
- Ability to translate technical needs and impacts to the operational community and diverse audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with diverse teams and delivering insights.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL.
- Ability to work independently and proactively push forward projects.
- Ability to work comfortably in version control systems (e.g., Git).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with DHS and knowledge of DHS standards a plus.
- Masters or PhD in a quantitative field.
- Experience working with serverless capabilities in cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and communicate technical terms to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence).
